it looks like opera software charges (around $25) for the windows mobile (pocketpc) version of opera. they have a 30-day trial version, but that will presumably stop working after a month. is there a free version somewhere? i don't necessarily need the latest version.

Check the following website. I have d-loaded a free trial version of Opera before when I had the T-Mobile MDA/Pocket PC.
