i've read that the Phantom of the opera was based on a true story. that years ago a skeleton with a ring on was found under the opera house next to house on the underground lake.
i've also read that Leroux wrote the book based on the Paris government and it was strictly metaphoric.
which do you think?

You should read the prelude in the Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux.
I believe there were some real events that sparked Leroux's idea. I think a lot of the story was exagerated. But some people need to believe things for their own satisaction. So read it and come up with your own belief.
