In opera how to keep the connection alive while downloading and how many bytes in packets(broadband

In opera the connection dies in between and i have to stop and resume transfer. The speed also is minimum. please advice how to increase the speed and countinue the transfer. Also the packets answer i got as nearly 1480 and 4032, which does not holds good, please re-advice. Thank you all
