The new Opera 9 Beta 2 is DEFINITELY worth downloading. In fact you will mostly end up using it most of the time :-)
It is a small download about 4+MB, feature rich, stable, and standards compliant.
My other browser is Firefox 1.5.0.4
[NOTE: Comes with a cool 'block content' feature to remove unwanted flashy ads]

More of a personal preference. I like Opera over Firefox but I have never been a big Netscape fan (yeah, guess who owns Firefox)
