I am really in love with the movie and the songs.. Like really in love since i call myself a "singer" i feel that when i hear the music it just fills my soul (im 15 years old btw) Let me take for example the song Angel of music (the phantom of the opera) when it starts every beat of that song punds in my heart and when the singing begins i feel butterflies in my stomatch, and when its ending that the phantom says SING MY ANGEL OF MUSIC and she starts making really high notes i swear i wish i could do that and the finall note it just blows me away
ok my question is here, do you feel the same way about this master piece as i do?
and have you heared the phantom of the opera - by nightwish?
The phantom of the opera?windows xp home
I have been a fan of Phantom since it first came out. The touring company just left our area - it is even better at a live theater!

i love the music in the phantom of the opera its so powerful im a big fan of the movie plus the actor that plays the phantom in the movie,Gerard Butler, is really hot.
omg i feel the same way!!!!!!!
a couple of my friends do too!
ive always loved phantom of the opera yes i have always been really infatuated with it....i wanted to see it on broadway...i first learned about it in 6th grade ...music class...
Yes, I am a huge fan!
I'm a huge fan! {Almost to the point of obsession, lol} I have the Broadway window card and playbill framed up in my room, and for Christmas I got Phantom Barbie dolls! You should have seen my face.
The music is amazing. Pretty much every night, right before I go to bed, I listen to Music of the Night and Down Once More. All the songs are just so beautiful! It's weird, when I listen to it I get this weird feeling....I tingle, lol.
The only problem is...I don't really like the movie, so I have to make do with youtube clips of my favourite Phantoms. {So far it's Hugh Panaro, Jason Mills, and Michael Crawford.}
I've never heard the nightwish song.....but have you heard Phantasia? It's so amazingly beautiful. It's basically the whole show mixed together, played by Julian Lloyd Webber and Sarah Chang. {And this huge orchestra} There's no singing, but I like singing along in my mind. x]
The book is amazing. Even if you don't like to read, READ IT! It's the original story...wow, it's amazing. The 1925 silent film is good, too.
I hope it stays on Broadway for a very, very long time!!!!
Btw, I'm 13. =]]
EDIT: Who gave me a thumbs down? Just becase I don't like the movie! *tisk, tisk*
i like the stage show it's a haunting piece but as for the film it's in my opinion been totally ruined and i fell asleep watching. it go and see it live if you can it's way better than the film version
i think the broadway and movie is amazing. i would give anything to sing like that. sadly my acting teacher said the broadway in nyc is ending. :(
(I'm very sorry about the length of this answer but I feel so strongly about Phantom)
I do feel the same way as you, yet different.
When I am at the broadway show, even before the show starts I am sobbing hysterically. When they raise the chandelier during the Overture it feels like my hearts going to burst, I have goosebumps and I am crying all at the same time. Then throughout the show I am grinning like a maniac and crying at the silliest things!
The music just wipes everything awway from me, I breathe in time with the beat, and like you, i feel the beat in my heart and my heartbeat slows or quickens to match the tempo of the music. I feel like I am on the stage...it's so hard to explain. Whenever a song from Phantom plays I break out in chills and goosebumps and tears come to my eyes.
Of course at the Final Lair part of the show I am already sobbing because I know the fate that awaits my poor Erik (Phantom).
This song has always touched me because of the sorrow in the song and Christine finally SEES him, all of him and kisses him...TWICE. All that he has ever wanted is granted to him at that moment. HIs final note sets me sobbing and especially when he calls after Christine when she leaves screaming "I love you...I love you...I love you..."
As he is holding her wedding veil, on the ground crying.
At the end of the show it seems like I am the only one crying...at least from the ammt of ppl I can see, they don't cry and I am sobbing like someone i love just died.
It means everything to me, I dream about it, I think about it all the time. I love it more than anything in the whole wide world.
I know how you feel :-)
When I was 6 I saw a "Wishbone" episode on TV about the Phantom and I was fascinated by it...I felt bad for "poor Erik" and wanted to know more about him. Then I heard the music on a commercial when I was a little older and I HAD to know what it was...my mom said it was from "Phantom of the Opera" and ever since then I have loved it.
Yes I have listened to the nightwish version.
I think its an interesting interpretation because it's very rock and the Phantom of the Opera IS a Rock Opera. I like it, though!
Lol the high notes are fun to hit but they hurt after you sing that E flat(movie) or E(broadway) continuously
i LOVE the phantom of the opera. i totally agree with you. i can not sing like them but i wish that i could. when i hear them sing it is so awesome. i wished that christine and the phantom would be together. i love the movie and i saw the musical too. i have heard the song by nightwish on youtube. it is a great movie and musical! it is one of the best. i know why you like it. :)
Maybe you can take music class? Even if your sucky you can might get better beleive me their are things that you think oyu cant do but actually can!
